WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
THE GOOD
- Design
Versatile connectivity offers versatile connectivity with both wireless and wired options, and dedicated media keys for added functionality. Also supports RGB lighting and is low-profile.
THE BAD
- Price
For its premium price of $229.99 USD, the keyboard comes with ABS keycaps. Additionally, it still uses a micro-USB for charging, though the 2024 version has upgraded to USB-C.
THE REST
- Overall
The G915 TKL LIGHTSPEED is a stylish keyboard that caters to gamers and professionals alike. The newer 2024 version, G915 X TKL, improves on several aspects, including switch actuation, keycaps material and battery life, offering a more refined experience.
The G915 TKL LIGHTSPEED package includes a LIGHTSPEED USB receiver, a USB extender, a micro-USB cable, and user documentation. The aluminum top plate enhances rigidity while maintaining the keyboard's thin, low-profile design. Its frameless design allows the RGB lighting to shine brightly, making it ideal for users who enjoy vivid lighting effects.
The keyboard features dedicated media keys, a volume roller, easy connectivity buttons, and a lighting effects button. However, the micro-USB cable for charging feels outdated for a keyboard released in 2019. The newer G915 X TKL model corrects this by including a USB-C cable. The ABS keycaps, while durable and shine-through, may disappoint those who expect PBT keycaps at this price point.
