The Pulsar X2 v1 Randomfrankp Edition is a collaboration between Pulsar and tech influencer Randomfrankp, resulting in a lightweight mouse designed for both gamers and those seeking a reliable mouse.

This special edition distinguishes itself from the original X2 v1 by using Huano Blue Shell Pink Dot switches, in place of the Kailh GM8.0 switches found in the original model. Apart from the switch change and unique color scheme, the two versions of the X2 v1 are essentially identical.

This mouse, featuring mechanical switches, delivers the precision and responsiveness that demanding users need. For those preferring an even more compact design, the X2 v1 Mini is available, offering a smaller and lighter option. Despite being launched at the same price point as the original X2 v1 - $94.95 USD - the Randomfrankp Edition has sold out on the Pulsar webstore as of the publication date.

HardwareNotes

In the Box, you'll find the mouse itself, a wireless receiver adapter, a 2.4 GHz receiver dongle, a USB-A to USB-C cable, a trading card, a sticker, and user documentation. The mouse is solidly built, with minimal flex and no noticeable rattle.

However, it lacks a lock for free scrolling and does not support tilt on the scroll wheel. Additionally, there is no onboard storage for the wireless receiver dongle. The mouse can be used either wirelessly or wired, thanks to the included flexible braided cable, which is 180cm long. The minimal customization options make this mouse ideal for users who prefer a straightforward, plug-and-play experience.

Productivity & EfficiencyNotes

Although the X2 v1 Randomfrankp Edition is not ambidextrous, it does feature a symmetrical design with forward and back buttons located on the left side. Weighing in at 59g, it is lightweight and falls into the medium size category, offering a lower palm bump but a wider rear. The mouse is uniformly shaped without a thumb or pinky rest. For those with smaller hands or a preference for an even lighter mouse, the X2 Mini, which weighs just 52g and is slimmer and shorter, could be an alternative.
