The Corsair Scimitar RGB ELITE is a wired gaming mouse designed for MMO gamers with numerous programmable buttons and a specialized grip design. Its very similar predecessor, the Scimitar PRO RGB, offered 16,000 DPI while this newer refresh offers an upgraded 18,000 DPI and a PMW3391 sensor. Labs tested the SKU CH-9304211-NA.

The 12 fully programmable and remappable side buttons remain to be repositionable, sitting on a sliding mechanism for the comfort of users. The side buttons are separated with different textures allowing for easy button recognition, although there may be a slight learning curve for users not used to a mouse with so many buttons. Weighing in at 100g, it is by no means a lightweight gaming mouse, but with the buttons and sculpted shape, it offers a good compromise for the heaviness.

As of the publication date, it is available on Corsair's website for $79.99 USD. It can often be found for less on various online retailers.

HardwareNotes

The Corsair Scimitar RGB ELITE includes the mouse, an Allen key, and user documentation. The non-detachable cable is 1.8 m long, braided and flexible enough. It should not get in the way of fast-paced gaming. The shroud has a matte, rubberized texture to it, and the aforementioned side buttons are textured. The side button slider can be adjusted with the included Allen key and by following Corsair's included instructions.

Productivity & EfficiencyNotes

The Scimitar RGB ELITE is not ambidextrous, as the side buttons are located on the left side, and the entire shape of the mouse is designed for a right handed grip. If users are looking for a left handed MMO mouse, take a look at Razer's Naga left-handed edition.

It does not have a thump rest, as the thumb is ideally using the side buttons, but it does have a slightly sculpted and textured pinky rest. The mouse is relatively wide and best suited for medium to large-handed users. The PTFE feet are good, though nothing exceptional, it will glide smoothly across various surfaces but best used with a mouse pad.
